Christophe Guiraud composes a score for large ensemble lasting around an hour.

Laszlo Umbreit composes various electronic frames lasting around half an hour.

These two compositional blocks are cut into several sub-divisions,

in order to be intertwined between them, like a mosaic, as a parallel to Murnau's expressionism.

Technomorph hauntology is the core of the whole musical piece.

It is an unusual cine-concert, the musical piece is autonomous, and nevertheless dedicated to Murnau's film. Breaking radically with the traditional cine-concert form, where the music sticks to the narrative flow, this sound fresco interferes in a subtle way in the poetic substance of the movie.
